1 Description of Installation
1.1 Overview of the Product
Driving Recorder (Two-in-one Terminal) CW-701 Functions:
Ÿ Driving recorder data can transfer to software center (by GPRS) for analyze & handle
Ÿ Record car odometer data (RPM, total mileage), compare to GPS data (mileage, speed) in the system.
Ÿ Record 8 input, 2 output status (car alarm, light, door lock, empty/full load…etc)
Ÿ Record fatigue data (when driving more then 3 hours without rest, will take as fatigue)
Ÿ Support IC card (for driver identification), record driver data, vehicle data
Ÿ Collect VIN, vehicle number, vehicle type, driver ID, driving license number
Ÿ USB port (can copy data stored in CW-701); RS485, RS232, Can Bus
Ÿ Support fuel level sensor (only for customers have own software)
Ÿ Support Camera. Can take picture by time interval (20 seconds minimum)
Ÿ Save 10, 000 break points (when GPRS not available), don’t lost by power off
CW-GPS701 Automobile Driving Recorder is a two-in-one GPS terminal product developed and made
after long-term investigation for market demands and by adopting mature modern micro-electronic control
technology, computer software technology and wireless data communication technology.
The product is divided into four modules, and they are terminal control module, display module,
communication GPS module and background analysis software module.

CW-GPS701 Automobile Driving Recorder, incorporating advantages of automobile driving recorder and
car-borne GPS terminal, can record, store and output data including driving speed, time, mileage and other
information for vehicle driving effectively via interfaces of the vehicle. With the aid of the system analysis
software, the vehicle can be dispatched rationally. Poor driving habits can be changed, wear of
consumables such as tires and brakes can be reduced, maintenance cost can be reduced and the
phenomenon of using a corporate vehicle for private purposes can be prevented.
The installation of CW-GPS701 Automobile Driving Recorder can improve social benefits significantly,
improve driving safety and reduce possibility for breach of traffic regulations and traffic accidents. In case
of any traffic accident, the data left on the driving recorder provide effective approaches and reference for
public security and traffic police authorities for handling accidents and breaking cases. It can provide more
comprehensive reference data for vehicle inspection (e.g. annual inspection) for traffic management
departments, and ensure vehicle inspection work of urban traffic management departments to be more
objective and scientific. In case of any accident, there will be sufficient evidence to decide accidental
liabilities, and it can be served as an auxiliary tool for insurance companies in their settlement of claims as
well. The user needs only to purchase one product to gain the functions of two products.

1.4 Notes for Attention:
1. Please read the user’s manual carefully before installing the device.
2. Turn on the power source of the terminal after confirming that the device and all connection cables are
connected properly. Do not install or dismantle the device when the power for the terminal is on. In
case any cable is missed or connected improperly, turn off the power first, otherwise the device will be
damaged easily.
3. It is recommended to install the device in the designated place. In case of finding any trouble in use,
please send it to the designated maintenance point for repair. Any damage of the device resulting from

installation or maintenance at an undesignated installation or maintenance point is not within the
warranty repair of the product.
4. This device is a wireless communication device, and be sure to turn off the power for the terminal
before entering an oil depot or a dangerous goods place.
5. To prevent from any electromagnetic interference or incompatible configuration, please stop using the
device in the place posted with a notice for forbidden use as per relevant regulations.

Detailed Description of Functions:
¯ The functions of driving recorder are contained inside: The driving recorder inside the terminal
complies with GB/T19056-2003 National Standard for Automobile Driving Recorders, with power
failure data protection≥5 years for the built-in 32K FE memory, and the data collected with the driving
recorder can be accessed in a remote controlled way via the data network.
¯ Multiple network access ways: Support multiple network communication ways and GPRS and
CDMA1X are optional.
¯ Text display screen is available.
¯ Many extension interfaces are reserved: 10 lines of I/O (8 for inputting and 2 for outputting).
¯ Real-time positioning: The product receives GPS satellite signals and acquire real-time position of the
vehicle (of longitude and latitude) and sends the data such as position, driving speed, direction and
status to the users monitoring center and let the user know the condition of the vehicle from the users
monitoring center.

¯ Real-time monitoring of the vehicle: The system acquires static or dynamic data by means of view on
demand, single-point transmission, multi-point transmission, timing transmission, and distance
transmission, displays vehicle movement state and track with the electronic map as the background
and performs monitoring and management for the vehicle.
¯ Vehicle tracking: Track any vehicle with the vehicle as the center on the electronic map.

interrupted, CW-GPS701 can save the data for the parking space. After communication is connected,
CW-GPS701 driving recorder automatically sends the data for the parking space it saves to the users
monitoring center.
¯ Replay of historical tracks: Various dynamic and static databases can be set in the system network
center, with the storage capacity of a month’s information and a year’s data. It is not only applicable
for access or search by the users, but it is convenient for internet authorized users to access the
services. The data can be stored for a long time and the driving data for a vehicle at a certain period of
time can be replayed.
¯ Statistics of driving mileage: Current mileage data can be sent at real time and the background can
calculate the mileage with minute as the unit as per the data.
¯ Intelligent power reduction: At the speed of 2km/h, the terminal goes on transmitting back 10 times of
location information normally, and then the terminal enters a hibernation mode, and the interval for
back transmission turns to be once every 30 minutes, maintaining the terminal on line all the time
while reducing power consumption and unnecessary data flow and the interval for hibernation can be
modified.
¯ Parameter setting: It can be set by the users as per their needs, facilitating management.
¯ Remote download of device programs: The driver can add or modify some functions of CW-GPS701
driving recorder in a remote controlled way without driving the vehicle back to the company, which
greatly reduces cost, cycle and work load for upgrading and maintenance. The convenient online
upgrading function enables flexible expansion of the terminal functions.
¯ Dispatching and sending of public messages: The system sends and receives instructions by the data
network, and the user’s system and display screen or car-borne phone at the terminal performs
two-way information communications.
¯ Reporting of vehicle load condition: Vehicle load condition can be reported to the management center
conveniently via the car-borne terminal.
¯ Alarm for over speed: The speed for vehicles can be limited. It will alarm automatically once the
vehicle exceeds the speed, and there is sound prompt on the vehicle, and the system will pop up an
alarm window to indicate that the vehicle is driving at a speed exceeding the limit. Alarm speed and
over-speed interval can be set on line.

¯ Sectional speed limit: The speed for running line can be monitored intelligently, several monitoring
speed values can be set as per various levels of roads to fulfill different speed monitoring on the road.
Active monitoring for continuous driving for 4 hours before stopping for rest and active intelligent
monitoring for the vehicles driving at night on the highway below three levels.
¯ Line-crossing alarm: The system can set the driving range for the vehicle. When the vehicle drives out
of the set range, the system pops up an alarm window to indicate that the vehicle exceed the driving
range.
¯ Emergency alarm: In case of any emergency (such as an accident), press the emergency alarm button
immediately and the driving recorder alarms to the monitoring center automatically and the center will
immediately know that the vehicle is in an emergency state and the place where the vehicle is . After
verification, it enters the emergency handling procedure and helps you out of the danger.
¯ Power failure alarm: Power for the car-borne device is supplied by the storage battery in the vehicle.
In case of power failure, it will give out power failure alarm signals to the monitoring center. When
external power supply for any car-borne device is interrupted, the device starts the standby battery
automatically.
¯ Cutting off the circuit: In case of emergency of the vehicle, the measure for cutting off the circuit can
be taken for the vehicle in emergency coordinating 110 and the public security authority in accordance
with current conditions so that the vehicle stops running.
¯ Voice communication: The car-borne telephone can have a voice call with any telephone or the voice
communication can be restricted to conversations within the group. It also supports setting of call
numbers and sections of call numbers and setting call activating or canceling functions.
¯ Single-directional monitoring: In case of emergency of the vehicle, single-directional monitoring for
the vehicle is available and call-back phone can be set to monitor all conditions on the vehicle.

After initialization of the system is completed, press “OK” key to enter the main menu interface, and select
with upward, downward, leftward and rightward keys.

3.3.2 Print information
Ÿ The printing operation can be performed when the driving speed of the vehicle is 0 and the printer is
connected properly (refer to operation guide for printer for the method for use of the printer).

Ÿ Select “Print” and press “OK” key or press functional F2 key on the homepage
Ÿ A confirmation dialogue box will appear on the confirmation screen (return key: exit printing, “OK”
key: confirm printing).
Ÿ If the printing operation succeeds, the words of “Printing, please wait" will appear.
Ÿ If the printing operation fails, the words of “Printing failed” will appear.
Ÿ After printing is completed, press return key to return to the default display interface.

3.5.1 Login system
1. Login our system: http://218.201.94.112/gps with user name: demo, password: demo.
2. Use E-map part (driving recorder function only supported by E-map). Click “Down file” to download
& install Java, E-map. Then choose “Nav Track” – “E-map Nav Track”

Here you can set information, read speed data, fatigue data, I/O data.
3.6 Connection between the Printer and the Terminal
Connect the external serial port at the 20PIN connection terminal to serial port of supporting line of the
printer, connect PS2 port of supporting line for printing to PS2 interface of the printer and turn on the
power of the printer before printing (refer to guide for use of printer for relevant parts).
3.7 Access Recorder Data via USB Interface
Insert a flash disk into the USB interface and operate in accordance with the prompt on the screen to collect
the data from the driving recorder on the site into the flash disk.

4 Guide to Installation and Maintenance
The installation of the terminal of CWS-8004 Automobile Driving Recorder shall be performed by
authorized personnel of our company or professional technical personnel of any of our local service centers.
The user shall not dismantle or repair it without authorization. Otherwise we assume no liability for any
consequence arising out of this.
4.1 The Procedure for Installation
1. Fix the display screen on the place convenient for viewing by the driver and fix the terminal in a cool
and well-ventilated place, a bit far from the car-borne acoustic device to prevent from any signal
interference. Make sure the LCD surface on the upper side of the screen shall be prevented from any
direct sunshine. Otherwise, service life of the screen will be shortened.
2. Install the terminal in a hidden place of the vehicle and fix it with a screw. (Do not select a place of
high temperature or near the air conditioner, for high temperature will easily shorten service life of the
device. And if it is too near from the air conditioner, condensed water from the air conditioner will
easily enter the terminal and result in short circuit and burning of the device).
3. Keep electricity quantity in the automobile battery sufficient and the work normal. Power supply for
the device is DC9V~32V. Prior to installation, confirm if the power supply system of the user is within
this range, for exceeding the maximum voltage of the terminal will result in the damage of the
terminal. Prior to cable connection, total power source of the vehicle shall be turned off (in the state of
power off), and the cable shall be prevented from being cut through, pressed, treaded and the
connector shall be kept clean and locked.
4.2 Maintenance and Servicing
The following proposals help you abide by the warranty repair provision, and ensure the terminal of CW-GPS701
Automobile Driving Recorder to work more stably and reliably.

1. The terminal shall be prevented from being impacted with force in use.
2. To ensure normal work of the device, please keep the terminal of the driving recorder dry. In case of
water immersion or sprinkling, please contact the local professional maintenance personnel and do not
turn on the power and start the terminal before this.
3. The display screen shall not be scratched or bumped with any sharp object in use.
4. The terminal shall be kept away from any other electromagnetic equipment.
5. There shall not be any high temperature or strongly magnetic object near the terminal and the terminal
shall be prevented from being soaked.
6. In case of any other abnormal conditions, please contact the local service center immediately.
5 Appendix: Provision for Limited Warranty Repair
After complying with the following terms and conditions, in case of any defects in terms of materials or
techniques for the product and its accessories (hereafter referred to as the “Product”), the manufacturer will
provide warranty repair service free of charge.
1. The provision for limited warranty repair is applicable for the consumers (hereafter referred to as the
“Consumers”) purchasing vehicle guard products from the manufacturer and their authorized
distributors.
2. The consumers enjoy a warranty repair period of 12 months free of charge from the date they purchase
the product. Within the free warranty repair period, the manufacturer or the authorized service center
is responsible for free warranty repair for the damages of the device caused by any defect from
materials and techniques of the products.
3. For the repaired products, if the remaining warranty repair period is no more than 90 days, the
warranty repair period will be prolonged to 90 days.
4. The consumers shall provide their invoices or warranty cards for the products they purchase for free
warranty repair as required by the manufacturer or the authorized service center.
5. Within the free warranty repair period, the manufacturer or the authorized service center is responsible
for paid maintenance for the damages of the devices caused by personal factors of the consumers and
the cost for corresponding maintenance material shall be collected.
6. Within the warranty repair period, the services of the manufacturer or the authorized service center
include maintenance and replacement. If a new device is used to replace any defective product or its
parts, all replaced products or their parts will be the assets of the manufacturer. The housing of the
product is not within the provision for warranty repair.

7. After the free warranty repair period is mature, the manufacturer and the authorized service center
shall be responsible for the whole-life paid warranty repair.
8. Free warranty repair will not be available for the damage of the device result from the consumer’s
dismantling the device without authorization within the warranty repair period (including free
warranty repair period).
9. In case of any problems within the warranty repair period, the consumer shall take actions as per the
following procedure:
Ÿ The consumer shall send the device back to the authorized distributor or the authorized service center
for maintenance or replacement;
Ÿ The relevant charge for dismantling the product is not covered in the provision for limited warranty
repair;
Ÿ If the product has exceeded the free warranty repair period when it is sent back to the manufacturer,
relevant expenses shall be collected from the consumer in accordance with the policy for paid
warranty repair.
10. The benefits granted in accordance with the limited warranty repair is subject to all other rights and
compensation under the mandatory laws enforced by relevant countries (or regions).
11. The manufacturer shall not assume or authorize the service center to assume any liability and
obligation exceeding those specified in the provision for limited warranty repair.
